Who is God
There is one living God who has revealed himself to mankind since the creation of the world. He is referenced in the Bible by many names, including Yahweh (in Hebrew), Jehovah (in Latin) and the LORD (in English).
God is the creator and sustainer of all things. He is perfect and unchanging; completely loving, good, and holy; limitless in knowledge, power, and presence.
Why Am I Here
Every person was created by God to know God, live for Him and enjoy a life full of His blessings.
What Is My Purpose
Every person has a unique purpose that God has designed for them. The God-given desires and gifts each person has guides them to their purpose.
Each person also has a free will and can choose whether they walk in God's will for their lives or not.
Why Do Bad Things Happen
God created man with a free will so that man can choose to have a relationship with God. God does not force man to have a relationship with him. Man's free will allows them to make choices that are good or bad.
God's original creation was absolutely perfect with no pain, sorrow or death. Since God gave man free will and the ability to choose between right and wrong, man chose to disobey God which brought pain, sorrow and death into the world.
God does not want man to experience pain, sorrow or death; however, due to man's own bad choices, sin has entered into the world.
What is Sin
Sin is anything bad that a human does. All humans have sinned in some way; therefore, all humans are sinners. There is no human who is holy. Every person in all of history was a sinner, except for one person, Jesus Christ.
Who Is Jesus
Jesus is the eternal Son of God, incarnated for our redemption, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man, one person in two natures.
As our substitute, he lived a sinless life and willingly gave himself as a propitiatory and reconciling sacrifice for our sins on the cross.
He died, was buried, rose bodily on the third day, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father as the only mediator between God and humanity. One day he will return again to judge the living and the dead.
What Will Happen When I Die
After death, there are two places that people will spend eternity.
Every person who sincerely receives Jesus as their Lord and Savior will live in heaven for eternity.
Every person who rejects Jesus as their Lord and Savior will live in hell for eternity.
How Can I Be Saved
Salvation is simple and is widely explained by following three steps (ABCs):
A - Admit you are a sinner
B - Believe Jesus died on the cross for your sins
C - Confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior
What Prayer Do I Pray to Receive Jesus
God knows every man's heart, and God accepts a sincere prayer spoken from a humble, obedient heart. If you would like to receive Jesus as your Savior, you can pray a prayer similar to this:
"God, thank you for my life. I recognize that I am a sinner, and I need a savior. I believe your son, Jesus, died on the cross for my sins in order that I can have a relationship with you. I accept Jesus as my Savior, and I ask Jesus to be the Lord of my life. God, help me follow your will for my life. Teach me truth, God, so I can live a life of freedom in Jesus' name. Amen!"
What Happens When I Am Saved
When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you become a child of God. The Bible says the angels in heaven rejoice every time someone is saved! You have now crossed over from death to life.
Some people may experience physical warmth or supernatural peace, while other people do not notice a physical change. Either way, your transformation happened inside, and your spirit is now completely alive in Christ.
Is Jesus the Only Way to Heaven
Yes, God has confirmed through countless witnesses, authors and by his own audible voice (recorded in scriptures) that Jesus is his only son. Jesus declared to people while he was on earth in many different ways that no one comes to God except through him. Jesus said he is the only way, truth and life.
Why Are There Many Religions
There are religions in this world that do not proclaim Jesus as the divine son of God. There are also religions that do not believe God or Jesus exist. Every person on this earth has a free will to accept Jesus or reject Jesus, which is why there are different expressions of beliefs and religions.
How Do I Know What Is Truth
The number one way to find the truth is to pray and say, "Jesus, if you are real, please reveal yourself to me." Countless people have prayed that prayer and have received confirmations from Jesus.
After you pray, seek the truth. There is only one book that is the best seller of all time throughout all of history, the Bible. All truth can be found in the Bible and through the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Who Is the Holy Spirit
The one living God exists as a triune God (three in one): God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit convicts concerning sin, enlightens to the truth, awakens to repentance and faith, regenerates sinners, and unites believers to Christ, making them partakers of the divine nature.
By the Spirit’s indwelling, Christians enjoy God’s presence and fellowship. By being filled with the Holy Spirit, Christians are divinely empowered for witness and ministry. As they bear the fruit of the Spirit and exercise spiritual gifts, believers edify the Church and bear witness to God’s kingdom.
What Translation of the Bible Do I Read
The Bible was originally written in Hebrew and Aramaic then translated into Greek. The Bible was translated from Greek to Latin and lastly, has been translated into various English translations (as well as a growing number of languages around the world).
The English translations of the Bible that are most closely interpreted from the original Hebrew and Greek are widely known as the New American Standard Bible, the English Standard Version and the New King James Version. It is common for people to own multiple Bible translations based on their preference.
Why Are There Different Denominations
Christians interpret the Bible differently, which is why there are different denominations including Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals, etc. Each denomination has different beliefs, yet the most common belief is that Jesus is the savior for all mankind and the only way to salvation.
It is important to know that regardless of denomination, God looks at man's heart. God accepts all who sincerely follow Jesus, regardless of their denomination affiliation.
How Can I Be Free From My Past
When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are set free from all past sin and failures. While God loves you and does not bring to account your past sins, you may struggle with shame or guilt due to present circumstances or relationships. To walk in freedom, renew your mind to the Word of God (by reading the Bible) to see how God empowers you to overcome any challenge.
What Happens If I Still Sin
Every person is faced daily with temptation to sin. As a Christian, you now have the Spirit of God dwelling in you to help you overcome sin and flesh. If you fall short and sin, simply repent and ask Jesus to help you overcome any temptation you face.
Recognize that you are God's child, and He loves to see you grow in your walk with him. He does not expect you to be perfect, and he empowers you by his grace each day as you learn to extend love and grace to others.
How Do I Live as a Christian
If you have asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, you are now a Christ-follower. As a Christ-follower (Christian), you can enjoy a close relationship with God. You can commune with God through prayer, worship, reading the Bible and following the leading of the Holy Spirit. You are God's son or daughter, and he daily wants to commune with you!
To grow in your faith, find a Bible-believing church where the Lord leads you to receive encouragement, exhortation and communion with fellow believers.
